There is a 35 player limit for each team (43 for Midget level). Registration is based on first come first serve, allowing returning players to register first. Once we have reached the limit for registrations for a team, anyone registering after will be placed on the waitlist and will be called if someone drops from the roster. If we have enough players on the waitlist, we will split the roster and form two teams. All registration fees must be paid at the time of registration. We recognize that some parents may have difficulty paying the registration fee all at once, especially those of you who may have more than one child joining the club. If you are unable to pay the registration fee all at once we require a postdated cheque for the outstanding amount at the time of registration. All registration fees must be fully paid by June 1st. However, if your team coach issues football gear before this date, the registration fee must be paid in full before your child may receive their football gear. A NSF charge of $30 will be charged for each NSF cheque. Please make all cheques payable to “Chilliwack Minor Football.” Please bring to registration:

  1. Registration form (will be provided at the registration table)
  2. Registration fee
  3. Copy of birth certificate   – for ALL players
  4. Volunteer deposit in the amount of $100 post dated to December 1, 2012 (not needed for Flag division)

Medicals

A physical exam by the family doctor needs to be done for all new players except for the Flag division. Click here to download form. Medicals do not need to be done for returning players unless they have had a concussion or serious injury in the past year. Don’t get a medical done until you are sure you are on a team (if you are on the waitlist – wait until you’ve been called advising you are on a team before getting the medical done), considering most doctors charge for signing the medical form.

Equipment

Equipment deposit cheques ($250 post dated to December 1/12) will be required at the time of picking up gear, not at time of registration. Flag players (ages 6-7) do not need an equipment deposit cheque.

Consent

Please read the Privacy Consent Form, and initial the bottom of the Registration Form indicating that you agree to it.

  • Quit* After July 15th = no refund.

*Date equipment is returned is considered quit date PRACTICES & GAMES: Depending on the coaching staff, practices may begin around May/June. Due to league requirements teams are allowed to practice a maximum of 12 weeks before the start of the season, which usually begins Labour Day weekend. We play all home games on Saturdays, Atom through Junior Bantam play all away games on Saturdays, Bantam and Midget play all away games either on Saturday or Sunday. The regular season is  approximately 10 weeks of games, most teams will play in exhibition games or in preseason tournaments, and if your team makes it to the semi finals and finals there will be additional games. The Provincial finals games are usually played the first week in December at McLeod Athletic Park. The coaches will contact you as to practice and game information. They also ask that you bring your child to practices on time and pick them up on time. Please check the website regularly for updated information. For those families who qualify, there are a couple of agencies who will help with financial assistance for registration fees: KidSport or Canadian Tire Jumpstart
